Your constitutional rights were completely discarded the day Alex Pretti was shot. Like Renee Nicole Good, he was shot and killed without justification, but unlike Good, who some choose to delude themselves with the thought that she was using her car as a weapon, Alex Pretti had no weapon drawn when he was first attacked and had no weapon on his person when he was shot and killed. It was agents who shot him, the same federal government which was created to uphold the Constitution, and if the federal government can pick and choose who gets to benefit from their constitutional rights and who gets theirs ignored, then none of us have rights.
Minnesota’s Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) has accused the FBI of refusing to cooperate on the investigation into Alex Pretti’s death. (It’s important to repeat and remember the name of the victim so that we remember that this happened to a human being and not just some figure.) They claim that the FBI isn’t sharing evidence with them.
This was after the Secretary of Homeland Security lied on national television claiming that Alex Pretti was brandishing a gun and that the officers reacted defensively to that action. The term “lie” is not enough to describe what she did. What she did was fabricate an illusion of what occurred while at the same time ignoring reality entirely. After that delusion, she claimed that this, “looks like a situation where an individual arrived at the scene to inflict maximum damage on individuals and to kill law enforcement”. This is the fantasy our leaders come up with in order to justify killing us.
Alex Pretti can be spotted on January 24th protesting against ICE on the road of Nicollet Ave in Minnesota. He was holding up his cell phone recording as he was protesting. Two women are then shoved by ICE into Alex Pretti, and while he tries to assist the women, he is pepper sprayed, beaten till he was on the ground, and then shot and killed.
The deception that he was brandishing a weapon likely stems from the point that he had a legal firearm on his person at the time he was first assaulted (not when he was shot though, by then an agent can be seen carrying his firearm away after having taken it from him). We have to focus on the word “legal” here. In the state of Minnesota, it is legal to carry a concealed weapon on your person if you have the license to do so. Alex Pretti had a license to do so.
Laws are being ignored to justify killing a human being who wasn’t assaulting or harming anyone. Today it’s Alex Pretti, but tomorrow it could be you. We as a community, as a nation, need to hold this administration accountable for their actions. We need ICE abolished. Our constitutional rights are the fundamental protections and liberties guaranteed to the people of the United States of America. We need to regain those rights.
